This article mainly introduces the industrial-grade serial to Ethernet converters USR-N510. One port serial to Ethernet converters USR-N510 can realize bi-directional transparent transmission between RS232/RS485/RS422 and network.
Serial to Ethernet converters USR-N510 can be used for multiple industrial applications such as CNC control system substations and intelligent transportation systems. Such applications need data transmission protection to ensure system stability.
From the front view
There are indicators, a 3IN1 serial port, and a Dial switch.
Power and Work indicators are used to show the working status of the product. The TX and RX indicators are used to indicate the data transmitted or received through the serial port.
The serial port support both RS-232 and RS-485/422 and can be set by the Dial switch.
From the rearview
There are a Reload button, RJ45 Ethernet port, and the interface for the power supply whose range is DC 5-36V.
Users can insert the RJ45 Plug to the seat to link the product and PC together.
According to the device's current serial port working mode, here are the steps of connecting the device with the RS232 cable.
Plug in a terminal type of power supply to power the device.
After power on and the indicator blinks, the Power indicator is always on.
TX and RX indicators are also blinking when the data is being transmitted or received through the serial port.
Turn off the firewall and disable unrelated network cards.
Please select the network card connected to the serial to Ethernet converters USR-N510 on the PC and set it to the same network segment.
Open the setup utility, search the device, and check the parameters.
Query the corresponding serial port number in the device manager.
Open the serial port with corresponding parameters, set the protocol to TCP client, and connect to the IP and port of serial to Ethernet converters USR-N510.
Send data from the network and serial port for communication test.
