Hi - I have been trying to get this unit to convert an RS232 signal into modbus TCP Slave. I have the RS232 communicating to the webserver for both send and receive, so the RS232 works fine.
The problems I need you to provide details on;
- Where do you configure the slave ID, data type and registers for Modbus TCP?
- The RS485 does not work at all - this has been tested with an FTDI RS485 to USB converter that is proven to work on a separate device.Even sending information from the webserver does not light the transmit LED
There is no information in the data sheets or user manuals available on line. please can you provide detailed user manuals.
Answer:
You need to make the serial to Ethernet converter USR-TCP232-410S and your host computer establish a TCP connection.
For details, please refer to the documentation in this link:

- Where do you configure the slave ID, data type and registers for Modbus TCP?
On this issue, you need to let the serial to Ethernet converter USR-TCP232-410S complete the function of MODBUS TCP and MODBUS RTU protocol conversion, then your computer host computer should send MODBUS TCP protocol data. You can look at the format of the MODBUS TCP protocol data, including the register address and the slave address.
