The Working Mode and Communication Mode of Serial Device Server

Server mode: In this working mode, the serial port networking server acts as the TCP server terminal, the converter monitors the connection request of the platform program on the designated TCP port, which is suitable for a converter to establish a connection with multiple platform programs(A converter cannot connect to multiple platform programs at the same time).

 

Client terminal mode: In this working mode, the serial port networking server acts as the TCP client terminal, when the converter is powered on, it actively requests the connection to the platform program. This method is more suitable for multiple converters to establish a connection to a platform program at the same time.

 

Communication mode:

1.Point-to-point communication mode: In this mode, the converter is used in pairs, one as the server terminal, one as the client terminal, establish the connection between the two to achieve bidirectional transparent transmission of data. This mode is suitable for transforming the bus connection between two serial devices into a TCP/IP network connection.

2.Adopt the virtual serial port communication mode: In this mode, establish connections between one or more converters and a computer to achieve bidirectional transparent transmission of data. The virtual serial port software on the computer manages the following converters, which can realize one virtual serial port corresponding to multiple converters, and N virtual serial ports corresponding to M converters.
