Serial device server IP settings and port configuration methods
How to set up IP for the serial device server?
There are two ways to set up serial device server IP, one is static IP, the other is dynamic IP. Static IP requires manual setting of the IP address, subnet mask, and gateway address. Suitable IP needs a corresponding application environment. This method can intervene in devices that cannot be assigned an IP address, but cannot communicate normally on different LAN segments. The dynamic IP setting is DHCP, which mainly obtains the IP address, Gateway address, and DNS server address dynamically from the gateway host. In addition to being unable to access a network without a DHCP server, there is no requirement for IP, and it is suitable for intervening in an environment where no corresponding IP is required.
Serial device server IP and port configuration methods
Serial device server not only supports static IP address or DHCP to get IP address automatically, but also queries devices in the network through UDP broadcasting protocol, and supports page port (default 80) change.
Dial the dial switch of USR-N510 to the default position, and both switches shall be facing down.
Open the testing software "USR-TCP232-Test.exe" and connect the hardware as required.
In the network setting area, select TCP Client mode, enter the server IP address as 192.168.0.7, enter the server port number as 8899 (make sure the hardware connection serial port is serial port 1), click the connection to establish a TCP connection, the serial port baud rate is set to 115200, and the serial port parameter is set to None. /8/1, click Open to open the serial port.
