Definition of the WIFI module
Serial to WiFi module is a wireless communication module which has been widely used in transmission. Serial to WIFI module based on the universal serial interface characteristics, it meets the IEEE802.11 protocol stack network standards, built-in TCP/IP protocol stack, and security aspects. Wifi module supports various wireless network encryption which including WEP64/WEP128/ TKIP/CCMP(AES) WEP/ WPA-PSK/wpa2-PSK, it can ensure the safe transmission of data.
Serial to WiFi module can realize any transparent transmission between serial port, Ethernet and wireless network (WIFI) interfaces, which can make traditional serial device connects the wireless network easily.
Working mode: There are two working modes of serial to WiFi module: AP and STA working mode. AP working mode can extend out a wireless WiFi network as an AP mode. STA working mode is like the client mode, which is the equivalent of the computer.
Applications of WIFI module:
Utilities and smart energy: thermostats, lighting controls, EV chargers, smart meters;
Retail: POS terminal, wireless price tag, digital remote signage;
Consumer electronics: remote control, Internet broadcasting, home security, toys;
Remote device management: location and asset tracking, vehicle, code update;
Medical, health and health care: patient monitoring, health equipment, real-time positioning systems;
Industrial control: chemical sensor, wireless controller, security system, M2M communication, etc.
