In TCP client mode, after electrified,serial device server actively connects to TCP server on the server side according to settings, and then establish a long connection for transparent data transmission. In this mode, TCP server’s IP should be visible to serial device server.
In UDP mode, after electrified,serial device server listens into the setup port and does not establish an active connection.when receives data, serial will send the data to IP and port set up by serial device server over the network.
UDP server does not validate the source IP address compared with the general UDP. UDP server can change destination IP into data source IP after receives UDP packets.
In this mode, serial device server records a destination IP by default.When receives data, serial will send data to the default IP.Meanwhile,serial device server receives data packet from network,and adjusts the destination IP for data source IP.The mode is suitable for application of multiple IP to serial device server.
In TCP Server mode, serial device server attempts to communicate with gateway first, and then listens into the setup local port. When there is connection request, serial device server will response and create a connection.Serial device server can create up to 4 connections at the same time. After receives data, serial will send the data to all the devices that connect with serial device server.
