5G + Industrial Internet Application Scenario Collection

"5G +" is on fire, and 5G + medical, 5G + high-speed rail, 5G + logistics and other application scenarios are constantly emerging.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued the "5G + Industrial Internet" 512 Project Promotion Plan, which proposed that by 2022, five industrial public service platforms will be built in the field of "5G + Industrial Internet", and the construction and transformation of the intranet will cover 10 key industries, forming at least 20 typical industrial application scenarios.

5G has become a permanent driving force in the development of industrial Internet.

The reason why 5G is favored by industrial Internet is that 5G can help manufacturing industry achieve the goal of "improving quality, reducing cost and increasing efficiency" by virtue of its technological advantages, thus enabling it to embark on the road of digitalization, networking and intellectualization.

1. 5G + steel

At present, the level of informatization and automation of China's iron and steel industry has ranked in the forefront of the world and become the closest industry to intellectualization.

4. 5G + Aviation

With the development of 5G technology, 85% of aircraft in the United States and more than half of aircraft in Europe have access to the Internet, but only less than 5% of aircraft in China have access to the Internet in the air.

Obviously, for our country, the integration application of 5G + aviation has become an urgent problem to be solved.

In this regard, COMAC has jointly built the first 5G civil aviation "smart factory" in China by taking advantage of 5G technology and Shanghai Unicom.

Application scenarios of 5G in civil aviation:

Personnel management: Due to the high confidentiality and security requirements of large aircraft production, it is very important to strictly manage the access of personnel. Through the low latency of 5G network, the face can be quickly compared with the stored records on the "cloud" side, thus greatly improving the recognition efficiency.

Goods management: There are thousands of spare parts used in the production of large aircraft, and many processes still need to be completed manually by craftsmen. "Smart Factory" can reduce the positioning error of spare parts placed in the workshop within 3 centimeters through the precise indoor positioning system carried by 5G network. Craftsmen can quickly realize the homing of objects through indoor navigation equipment.

Data collection: collect the operation data of the CNC machine tool in real time through 5G.In traditional industrial production, the inspection link of product quality is usually placed at the end, which is a kind of ex post supervision. Nowadays, sensors are implanted into CNC machine tools, which can collect all kinds of data in real time when the machine is running, and immediately upload the data to the intelligent platform or "cloud" terminal, and then continuously compare with the data model. Once the system finds abnormalities, it can alarm in a short time.

At present, the quality inspection technology based on 5G has effectively improved the efficiency and quality of parts inspection. Shanghai Unicom integrates AR/VR technology with 5G to realize the immersive experience of large civil aircraft manufacturing plants, and uses virtual data and models to organically integrate with real space to assist the inspection and maintenance of workshop equipment.

From the results of the current project cooperation, Shanghai Unicom organically combines 5G technology with edge computing, cloud computing, big data, artificial intelligence and other technologies, and integrates them into the whole process of aircraft manufacturing, effectively improving the efficiency of aircraft manufacturing, improving the quality of aircraft assembly and reducing production and operation costs.

5. 5G + coal mine

As a traditional energy industry, coal industry has the characteristics of many links, long front, complex production system and difficult management.

The danger of underground work is the most dangerous problem in the coal mining industry, so intelligent and unmanned operation has become the expectation of every coal miner. The application of 5G technology has turned this dream into reality.


There are six sets of systems in the underground working face of the coal mine, each of which uses independent optical fiber communication, so the data can not be fused, and the wired connection can not be adapted to the most important working face of the mine roadheader, so it has become a thorny problem for the coal mining industry to build a network on the ground and underground of the mine.

Because 5G network has the characteristics of large bandwidth, low latency and multi-connection, it naturally becomes the key technology of coal mine private network construction.

5G coal mine private network has four characteristics:

First, there is a net above and below the well, and a net for production and office.

Second, the network moves with the industry, mobile coverage;

Third, the edge computing data can not be mined to ensure data security and further reduce the delay;

Fourth, security, the key equipment of 5G NSA network has been certified by coal safety.

China Mobile, Yangquan Coal Group and Huawei Company jointly built the first 5G smart coal mine in China. Xinyuan Coal Mine of Yangquan Coal Group, relying on the lowest underground 5G network in China, the 534m "super gigabit uplink" coal mine 5G private network, has realized the intelligent management of coal mines and solved many painful problems in the coal industry.

The birth of this 5G smart coal mine has laid the foundation for the development of China's coal mining industry towards intelligence. In addition, the construction of 5G smart coal mines is also being carried out in Henan and Shanxi provinces.

In the Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Intelligent Development of Coal Mines issued jointly by eight ministries and commissions, it is proposed that by 2025, large coal mines and coal mines with serious disasters will basically realize intellectualization. By 2035, all kinds of coal mines will basically realize intellectualization, build a multi-industry chain and multi-system integrated coal mine intelligent system, and build a coal mine intelligent system with intelligent perception, intelligent decision-making and automatic execution.

6. 5G + port

As an important hub of transportation, ports play a vital role in promoting international trade and regional economic development, and about 90% of global trade is carried by the maritime industry.

At present, the whole port industry is facing many challenges, such as rising labor costs, high labor intensity and shortage of manpower. Reducing costs and increasing efficiency, and upgrading automation have become the common demands of global ports.

The intelligent and information construction of port has become an important means to enhance its core competitiveness, and it is also the key to reduce logistics costs and improve logistics efficiency.

5G, as an important enabling technology for the digital transformation of thousands of industries, plays a key role in the process of building smart ports.

Application scenarios of 5G in smart ports:

Driverless: Based on the characteristics of 5G network technology, combined with MEC technology and intelligent sensing technology, it can realize the high-speed transmission of remote control commands for driverless container trucks in smart ports, as well as the demand for manual remote control of driverless container trucks under abnormal conditions.

Remote control of machinery and equipment: Based on the technical characteristics of 5G network and the "end-to-end" 5G network deployment, the data connection between the quayside container crane, yard crane and the remote control center adopts the "5G + wired networking" mode, which can improve the reliability and flexibility of network transmission, combined with the wharf operation management system, the automatic control system of the quayside container crane and the automatic control system of the yard crane.And that remote control operation of the quayside bridge and the yard bridge is realize.

Intelligent security and emergency command: With the help of 5G network technology, the real-time high-definition video shot by front-end equipment such as unmanned aerial vehicles and ball control devices will be sent back to the intelligent port emergency command and dispatch center to synchronize the real scene of the terminal with the large-screen video screen, which will greatly improve the ability of the terminal command and dispatch personnel to observe and judge the emergencies in the port area.Improve the efficiency of decision-making and execution.
