In industrial IoT scenarios, data acquisition has always been a core requirement. The traditional serial → WiFi → cloud transparent transmission approach is simple and direct, but as the number of connected devices grows, cloud-side pressure keeps climbing, and the "last mile" of data processing is becoming a bottleneck.
Both the PUSR W610s and W630s have received a major version upgrade — the edge computing gateway functionality is now officially live. Data processing no longer relies entirely on the cloud; the gateway can now handle acquisition, computation, and reporting locally on its own.
In the past, the gateway's job was simple — transparently transmit serial data to the cloud. But this upgrade brings significant changes.
The gateway actively sends acquisition commands to slave devices, supporting Modbus RTU/TCP and the DL/T 645-2007 meter protocol, with support for up to 1,000 data points. It supports merged acquisition (consecutive points combined into a single command), and configuration supports CSV batch import/export for rapid deployment across multiple devices.
Raw acquired data can undergo arithmetic operations directly on the gateway, supporting linked computation across up to 20 data points.
For example: upon acquiring current (I) and voltage (U), the gateway directly computes power P = U × I. The cloud receives only the final result, with no secondary processing needed. Shifting data processing from the cloud down to the gateway both reduces server load and cuts network bandwidth consumption.
Supports three reporting modes — periodic reporting, change-based reporting, and scheduled reporting — with customizable JSON reporting templates to flexibly adapt to different platforms' data format requirements.
The gateway supports Modbus RTU → Modbus TCP/JSON protocol conversion. Servers can directly read and write point data on the gateway via standard protocols. This can run simultaneously with the active data reporting function.

Supports on-site WiFi environment surveying and wireless link testing, clearly presenting wireless network status to enable more rational device deployment and ensure stable, reliable wireless communication.

The W610s/W630s connects to an industrial AP, bringing wired field devices such as PLCs, sensors, and instruments onto the wireless network. After upgrading with the edge acquisition function, the gateway can actively poll device data, complete data processing locally, and report in real time to MES, SCADA, or cloud platforms via JSON format — enabling equipment status monitoring, production data acquisition, and intelligent management.



This upgrade advances the W630s and W610s from traditional WiFi serial servers into industrial intelligent gateways that integrate data acquisition, edge computing, protocol conversion, and wireless connectivity in one unit.
Field devices no longer passively wait — they actively acquire, process, and report. The gateway becomes the "local brain" on site, while the server returns to its role as the "grand steward." Each fulfills its own role, achieving optimal efficiency.
