It is reported that the LoRa alliance was established in March 2015. The LoRaWAN technology promoted by the alliance can be applied to the IoT and machine-to-machine (M2M), and it is mainly applied to smart cities, smart industries, and other fields.

 

LoRaWAN has the characteristics of low power consumption and long-distance, etc. Through this technology, the effective range of signal transmission can be up to 35 kilometers, which can be used for agricultural soil testing, fishery water quality testing, anti-lost for the elderly, children’s campus positioning, etc.
